Hi, I’m Lainey, owner of Pumpkin Lodge Crafts.
I crochet all of the pieces available and I have written the books that I sell.
I started Pumpkin Lodge Crafts because I’m passionate about slow fashion and animals; I wanted to create handmade pieces that didn’t contribute to animal harm while at the same time supporting wonderful causes.
I feel so grateful that I get to keep my customers and their loved ones cosy in my creations. It means the world to me when I receive notifications from you about why the scarf you purchased matters to you or how my blankets keep you cosy. I adore hearing from you about the recipes you made from my book and how you modified them to make them your own.
My designs are based on traditional Irish shawls and clothing, folklore, myths and the Irish countryside. I’m also obsessed with Halloween and autumn which is evident in my work.

Slow fashion: Crocheted items are made by me and not mass produced
Books: The Spooky Witch Journal and Recipes for Autumn Souls are printed through a sustainable reading programme (in partnership with Ecologi) meaning they have a low envrionmental impact

FAQs
Do you make all of the items you sell yourself?
Yes. I crochet all of the items and I have written the books I sell.
How long do crocheted items take to make?
It depends on the item. Each item has a make time listed unless it takes under a week.
General wait times:
- Scarf, cup cosy, tea cosy – 1 week
- Blanket, cardigan - up to 10 weeks (usually fewer) but some are already made and ready to ship which will be in the description
Do you make custom orders?
Yes! I can usually make items in your colour choices and in various sizes. Sometimes this means prices will differ slightly to listing, particularly if there is a significant size change or if I don’t have the materials. I try to keep prices the same where possible and generally there is no price change.
How is shipping calculated?
Shipping is free over €150. Shipping is through An Post and is in line with their costs based on weight meaning it ranges from €3.80 - €9.
How is your business vegan?
I am a vegan owner and maker and I use only vegan materials (yarn is not animal wool).
What causes has Pumpkin Lodge Crafts supported?
Supporting causes for people and animals is really important to me and I want my business to be a source of good in the world.
Causes that have been supported include:
- Gaza Go Bragh – sold decorations with 100% of sales donated
- Navan Pride – raffle prizes made and donated
- My Lovely Horse Rescue – From 2022-2024 10% of income was donated
- The Donkey Sanctuary – Books donated to visitor centre with all income going to the organisation
- Seal Rescue Ireland - Books donated to visitor centre with all income going to the organisation
- The Old Irish Goat Society - Books donated to visitor centre with all income going to the organisation
- Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign – Designed a Valentine for Palestine cards
- North Dublin Cat Rescue – Books donated with all income going to the organisation
- National Animal Rights Association – raffle prizes
